How Feedback Transforms Your Tennis Lessons

Coaching Feedback

Can you imagine a tennis lesson with lots of hitting but not receiving relevant feedback for your tennis game? That is akin to a tennis ball machine generating shots. However, it is fine if you feel like having a good workout.

While you are receiving feedback from your tennis coach, you are also learning how to apply it. This application of feedback is important.

It helps correct your technique when the instruction is accurate. This is exactly what you need to move your tennis game up a notch. The satisfying part is when you get it and you get the enlightened moment of a satisfying hit. I must say, it does not come as easy for some people. It boils down to the willingness and ability to stay on the course.

While the tennis coach is giving feedback, i like to also gather feedback from the learners. I do this to understand better what their difficulties are. This way, I can create a more customized approach for them. Tailoring the tennis learning to your needs is so important and not one way really fits everyone. Fundamentally it is communication and it goes both ways regardless of any sport or activity that needs interaction.
