The Singapore Tennis Open was a delight with Elise Mertens from Belgium , ranked 22 in WTA in the world claiming the top spot in the competition. The Singapore Tennis Open at the new kallang tennis hub certainly help to reignite professional tennis since the WTA FInals from 2014 to 2018 in Singapore during the year end competition of the WTA tour.

This time round, Singapore did welcome the players at the welcome party with traditional kebaya costume theme which was so beautifully fused with a sport like tennis.The kebaya is a traditional Southeast Asian garment, and it is recognised by UNESCO. It definitely was on occasion where players showcased local tradition while having fun at the same time with fashion.

There was also a singlish section you can catch the instagram reel where players were having a go at Singlish- a local slang to english.
